The Story
Heather is the title of the tenth track, which can be found in the debut album of Conan Gray entitled “Kid Krow” which was released way back in 2020. This song holds the heartache felt by Conan as the person depicted as “Heather” steals his adored person, popularly known as crush, unknowingly.
Who is Heather?
Heather is described in the pre-chorus as beautiful, gorgeous, and kind, making his crush fall onto her undoubtedly while Conan embraces the pain within himself. This has been clearly stated in the lines,
“She’s got you mesmerized while I die.”
In the chorus of the song, it made use of the lines:
“You gave your sweater, it’s just a polyester
But you like her better,”
wherein the sweater shows the affection and love that is being passed on to Heather that resulted for Conan to lose his crush because of Heather. In the second verse, Conan had noticed that Heather and his crush were holding hands which made him feel lost and unloved.
The Singer’s Wish
It was repeatedly sung the lines “Wish I were Heather,” wherein Conan wishes that things will become different and have his crush.
Unluckily, reality cannot force this matter, so acceptance is the sole key to understand the situation. Nevertheless, the pain of Conan was seen in this song which is an interview. He shared that this was the song he always shed tears too.

Conan Lee Gray or popularly known as Conan Gray, is an American singer and songwriter discovered through his thriving vlogs, song covers, and original songs posted to his YouTube channel. He released his debut EP Sunset Season album “Kid Krow” way back in 2018 after he signed a record with Republic Records.
His debut album placed number 5 in the concluded US Billboard 200 with his singles “Heather” and “Maniac.” This victory marked his album as the most prominent US debut of New Artist in the said year.
