“good 4 u” by Olivia Rodrigo Song Review

The Composer

An 18-year-old American singer, songwriter, and actress, Olivia Rodrigo, has been hitting the top spot in the UK’s single chart after her Sour album has been released. She began her showbiz career when she was only 12.

She gained popularity after gaining her break to become a part of the show entitled Bizaardvark, where she played Paige Olvera, a guitar-playing character.

She was also given a role in the series of High School Musical as Nini Salazar-Roberto. After which, Olivia Rodrigo has been found out to be dating her co-high school musical star named Joshua Bassett way back in 2020, but it failed due to a third party relationship with Sabrina Carpenter, Bassett’s co-star in Disney.

The Heartbreak Song

On releasing her new album “Sour,” the song “Good 4 U” became famous across the music industry. Olivia Rodrigo wrote this song with Daniel Nigro, the producer, with the help of Alexander Glantz.

This pop-punk song was believed to be a heartbreak hymn of Rodrigo to Bassett, which can be depicted in the lines

“Well good for you, I guess you moved on really easy

you found a new girl, and it took a couple of weeks”

wherein it has been a painful shot on the newfound relationship of Bassett while Rodrigo was still in the process of moving on.

Her Victory

Moreover, it is merely a messy hymn for her fans for her ex-boyfriend, who has moved on that easily while she is still stuck with the moving-on process.

Luckily, “Good 4 U” has been into the top spot in the UK’s singles chart in its second week, and her “Sour” album also places on top of the album tally resulting in Rodrigo becoming the youngest solo act who reached the highest spot both in the UK singles and albums chart only in the same week.
